Idaho Animal Rescue Network / Adoption

Their next chapter starts here.

They are more than what happened to them. Every one deserves to be known, loved, and chosen for who they are.

A thoughtful match

How adoption works.

We take the time to find a home that fits the individual animal and the people who will care for them.

01 / Explore

Get to know them

Read the animal’s profile, care notes, and updates. Look beyond the photo to learn what they need.

02 / Apply

Tell us about you

Complete the application linked from an available animal’s profile. Applications are reviewed for fit.

03 / Meet

Spend time together

Once an application is on file and it looks promising, we can arrange a meet and greet and discuss any questions or special needs.

04 / Home

Begin the next chapter

Once everyone agrees it is the right match, we finish the adoption and help you prepare for home.

Best fit comes first. Applications are not processed simply in the order received. We want each animal and adopter set up for a lasting match.

Who We Adopt To

We welcome adopters from anywhere. What matters most is finding the right home for the individual animal.

Best fit, not first come

Applications are reviewed carefully. We choose the home that best fits the animal, not simply the first application received.

Apply before meeting

Meet-and-greets are scheduled only after a completed adoption application is on file and the placement looks promising.

Out-of-state adopters welcome

You do not have to live in Idaho. Adopters must travel for an in-person adoption and pickup. We do not ship animals.

Resident pets must be altered

We do not adopt to homes with unaltered resident pets unless there is a documented medical reason from a veterinarian.

Our goal is a lasting placement. Individual animals may have additional requirements based on health, behavior, training, or their history.
