Meet Cupid

Courtesy Post: Cupid is not in IARN’s care. He remains with his owner in the Pullman, WA area while Idaho Animal Rescue Network helps his family find the right new home. IARN will accept and screen adoption applications on his behalf.

Cupid is a seven-year-old neutered Pit Bull mix who has quite literally been through the fire and come out the other side still loving his people.

This guy LOVES kids and is happiest being part of the family. He has a medium energy level and is potty trained and crate trained, although if something exciting is happening, he has been known to decide that crate rules are merely suggestions! Thankfully, he is not destructive and currently does well being left loose in the home.

Cupid is good with cats. He can be selective about other dogs, so we believe he would be happiest as the only dog in his new home. He walks using an Easy Walk-style harness and is vaccinated.

We are familiar with Cupid’s current family and know that he comes from a wonderful, loving home. Sometimes circumstances change and good families face incredibly difficult decisions for animals they love. Cupid has been well loved and cared for, and his family wants nothing more than to find the right next home for him.

Beyond the quick facts

Behavior Notes

Cupid loves children and is good with cats. He plays with dogs he’s familiar with who are confident and not submissive. He can still be selective about other dogs, so being the only dog is preferred; matches involving another dog need individual evaluation. He is potty trained and crate trained but may leave his crate when excited. He is not destructive and currently does well left loose in the home. He walks with an Easy Walk-style harness. No bite history has been reported.

What adopters should know

Health & Special Considerations

Cupid survived a fire and has recovered well, although his family reports some permanent smoke damage. When he gets overly excited, he may cough.

He has received antibiotics and breathing treatments and has been evaluated by his veterinarian. His cough is believed to be a lasting effect of smoke exposure rather than an active illness. His veterinary history and ongoing care needs can be discussed during the adoption process.

Cupid is neutered and vaccinated.

The right match

Cupid's Ideal Home

Cupid is looking for a family who can give a deserving older guy stability, love, and a home of his own. He loves children and being included in family life, and he is good with cats.

Because he can be selective about other dogs, a home where he is the only dog is preferred. Any potential match with another dog would need individual evaluation.

His new family should understand his smoke-related cough and be willing to discuss his veterinary history and care needs. He is currently in the Pullman, WA area.
