Get Involved

Volunteer

If you’re organized, detail-oriented, or simply ready to lend a hand, we’re always looking for general volunteers to help keep IARN running smoothly. Our volunteers help with everything from organizing donations to assisting with the pet pantry that serves low-income pet owners and animals on the Nez Perce Reservation.

We also have an urgent need for data entry volunteers who can help maintain our database. This vital behind-the-scenes work ensures that animals rescued from cruelty and neglect receive the care and tracking they need as they move toward their forever homes.

Your time and effort, no matter how small, can make a huge difference in the lives of animals across Idaho.

Transport Volunteer

One of the most critical roles at IARN is transporting animals. Many of the animals we rescue need to be moved from unsafe or abusive situations to safe foster homes, veterinary care, or even new rescues. Transport volunteers are an essential part of our mission to rescue animals from cruelty and neglect across Idaho.

This role involves more than just driving; it’s about creating a safe and comfortable experience for animals who may be scared, injured, or recovering from trauma. As a transport volunteer, you’ll work closely with our team to coordinate pick-ups, drop-offs, and ensure every animal arrives safely at their next destination. You may also assist with transporting supplies, such as food and bedding, to areas in need.

Become a Foster: A Loving Home While They Wait

Many of the animals we rescue need a safe place to stay while they recover and prepare for adoption. That’s where our incredible fosters come in. As a foster, you’ll provide temporary care, love, and attention to an animal who has been through cruelty or neglect.

Some animals may require extra support, such as socialization or outings, to build their confidence and help them adjust to a home environment. By fostering, you’re not just offering a roof over their head—you’re giving them the skills and security they need to thrive.

We’ll provide resources, training, and ongoing support throughout the process. Fostering truly saves lives and is one of the most rewarding ways to get involved.

Boots on the Ground: Field Volunteers for Cruelty Cases

For those who feel called to take on the toughest challenges, we need volunteers willing to work in the field. This role is not for the faint of heart—it involves assisting with animal cruelty investigations, rescuing animals from dangerous or neglectful situations, and working directly with law enforcement to address some of the most heartbreaking cases of abuse.

Field volunteers need to be resilient, compassionate, and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of animals who need it the most. If you feel strongly that you can handle this vital work, we’d love to have you join our in-the-field rescue team.
