Our Adoption Process: Finding the Best Fit
At the Idaho Animal Rescue Network, adoption isn’t about being first—it’s about finding the best fit for both you and the animal. Our process is designed to ensure a smooth transition and set everyone up for success. Here’s what you can expect:
Submit your application to help us learn more about your family, lifestyle, and what you’re looking for in a pet.
Fill Out an Adoption Application
We’ll schedule an interview to answer your questions, discuss the adoption process in detail, and ensure we understand your home environment and needs.
Interview
Once the phone interview is complete, the next step is a meet-and-greet with the animal. If you have other pets, this step might require a few visits in a neutral location to make sure everyone gets along comfortably. Additionally, we’ll arrange a visit to your home to introduce the animal to their potential new environment and see how they do there.
Meet and Greet
Before the adoption is finalized, we’ll conduct a home check to make sure it’s a safe and welcoming space for your new companion. During this visit, we’ll also provide helpful tips on how to make your home even safer and more comfortable for the animal.
Home Visit
When everything is in place, it’s time to welcome your new family member! Every animal adopted through IARN comes fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered. As part of our commitment to successful adoptions, we offer ongoing support to adopters. You’ll gain access to our exclusive Adopters Only Group, where you can connect with a community of fellow pet owners, and you’ll also have access to a professional dog trainer who can assist with post-adoption questions or adjustments.
